Image SEO a Part-n-Parcel of Social Media

An image is worth a thousand thoughts…” and in social media, an illustration enhances and compliments the written content, and generates maximum readership and clicks for the brand.

A good image in the blog posts, articles and news releases do signal that an attempt is being made to enhance the content, even though search engines can’t read visual material. But, adding Meta data or tags that Google can read, optimizes the tags for search, and goes a long way to improve the Image Search Optimization.

It has been studied that news items in Google News get searched and seen first if it is represented with an image. Likewise, a recent research revealed that 79% of media reporters believed that a good image with a news release increased its chances of being read. Blogs also get ranked best if it is complimented with a good visual element.

A social media executive should make it mandatory to present their brand postings or blogs with original images that are creatively fresh and visually impactful. People love pictures - primarily because humans love things that provide a visual stimulation.  One can use Flickr images and indulge the mind of the audiences with interesting images that is sure to boost the social media impact for a said brand.

To maximize image search optimization, a media executive can add the URL to that image in the description field and also tag the image, allowing the viewer to check out the blog posts and also generate maximum clicks as well.

Importance of image in a Social Media platform:
  • It can convey the brand’s message clearly.
  • It can create brand’s business credibility.
  • An association between the said product/service and the client can also be established.
  • Lastly, it can stimulate the buyer for a purchase or response.
Images are an effective part of a Social Media Optimization Plan and are best complimented with meaningful words that communicate and create that quintessential IDEA.
